What wool can I use instead of Patons lush?
Calling all knitters – I have a pattern which says to use Patons Lush yarn. This has been discontinued so I am wondering what kind of wool I can use as an alternative. All suggestions welcome!
Definitely Patons Lush pattern – there are a few balls available on ebay. The pattern doesn’t look too ancient.Maybe one that was available in UK or USA or elsewhere only? (I’m in UK)
The Patons website was no help at all. Check the gauge given in the pattern. That’s what you’ll have to match. Find a yarn with the same gauge and approximate texture (if you know what that was) and it will work. If all you can find is the gauge, go with that.
I would suggest going to www.coatsandclark.com and checking their yarn summary chart.

This will help you match the gauge and get a yarn that is still in production. Coats & Clark has a fine selection of brands and yarns within each brand.
