What is the best yarn………………..?
for crocheting baby booties, that won’t shrink?
I’ve been using Patons Grace 100 perent cotton and also Sinfona 100 percent mercerized cotton. But, even though I only hand-wash them in cool water, and do not put them in the dryer, they still shrink significantly the first time they are washed, and I am NOT good at altering patterns to make them larger to allow for the shrinkage…..
I’ve tried acrylic but it gives kind of a fuzzy appearance to the booties that I don’t like….
Thanks for suggestions….
I was going to suggest Debbie Bliss’ Cotton Angora, but it does have a soft, fuzzy look.
Coats and Clark’s TLC Cotton Plus is 51% cotton-49% acrylic. It might work for you.
However, you can always go up a size or two on the hook to make the booties larger and plan for shrinkage, and keep using the Grace or Sinfona.
